James M. Boland, President

Jim Boland started his career at Boland as an account executive in 1978 and has steadily worked up through the ranks of the company. In 1982 he was promoted to manager of parts, to assistant vice president, service operations in 1985, and vice president of service operations in 1986. He was elected to his current position in 2003.

Jim is a graduate of Georgetown Preparatory School in Rockville, Maryland. He received his Bachelor of Science from Georgetown University and his Master of Business Administration from Loyola College. He is a graduate of the Trane Company Sales Engineer Graduate Training Class. Formerly Chairman of the Board of Directors of Georgetown Preparatory and Mater Dei School, Jim is still an active member of the Mater Dei Board of Directors. He is also currently the chairman of The Flax Trust of America. His memberships include John Carroll Society, Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, Congressional Country Club and King's Creek Country Club. His professional memberships include MCA, ASHRAE, and AOBA. He is an active member of the National Association of Trane Franchise Holders (NATFH) and member of the Distribution Advisory Board (DAB) for the Trane Company.

Louis Boland, Jr., Executive Vice President

Lou Boland began his career as an account executive in1978 and in 1998 was promoted to vice president of sales and marketing. He was elected to his current position in 2003.

A graduate of Spring Hill College, Lou received a Bachelor of Sciences in business administration. He is a member of the Mechanical Contractors Association (past president) and National Association of Trane Franchise holders. His personal and charitable memberships include an officer of John Carroll Society, past president of Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, Sovereign Military Order of Malta Federal Association, the FLAX Trust, and Don Bosco Cristo Rey High School (board of directors).

Lawrence J. Cain, Jr., Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Larry Cain began his career at Boland in 1981 as the controller. In 1985, the board of directors elected Larry to vice president, corporate secretary and member of the board of directors. In 2003, Larry was elected to senior vice president and chief financial officer for Boland. Before joining Boland, Larry was formerly a partner in Hoye, Graves, Bailey and Associates PA where he specialized in tax compliance and planning, management consulting, and audit services.

Larry is a graduate of Cathedral Latin High School in Washington, DC. He graduated summa cum laude from Benjamin Franklin University with a Bachelor's degree in accounting. Larry is a certified public accountant (CPA) and has held an active license from the State of Maryland since 1977. He is a member of Maryland Association of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs.
