Steve Beatrice leads Boland’s Energy Solutions project development and energy engineering team. Steve has over 27 years’ experience in the building automation and energy management industry, from design and project management of building automation and energy management systems to performing detailed, DOE level building energy modeling for Boland’s energy solutions efforts. Steve has been instrumental in deploying building energy monitoring and analysis solutions for Boland’s broad range of client markets. Boland’s Energy Solutions Team supports the development of Energy Solutions projects by providing site surveys, retro commissioning support, system design, energy audits and energy analyses.
As a Certified Energy Manager, Sustainable Building Design Professional and LEED Accredited Professional, Steve is instrumental in providing clients with solutions for improving their facilities’ energy performance, carbon footprint and comfort.
Jim Boland started his career at Boland as an account executive in 1978 and has steadily worked up through the ranks of the company. In 1982, he was promoted to manager of parts and then to assistant vice president of service operations in 1985. He was subsequently promoted to vice president of service operations in 1986. Jim was elected president and CEO of Boland in 2003.
Jim is a graduate of Georgetown Preparatory School in Rockville, Maryland. He received a BSBA degree from Georgetown University and a Master of Business Administration from Loyola College. He is a graduate of the Trane Company Sales Engineer Graduate Training Class. His professional memberships include the Mechanical Contractors of America (MCA) where he served as former board chairman, ASHRAE and AOBA. Jim is currently the President of the National Association of Trane Franchise Holders (NATFH) and a member of the Distribution Advisory Board (DAB) for the Trane Company.
Sean Boland leads Boland’s Service and Contracting Operations. Sean graduated from Duke University with a bachelor’s degree in economics and history and attended Trane’s Graduate Training Program before earning a Master’s in Business Administration from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. Sean has spent time in both the Sales and Operations areas of the business and is knowledgeable in HVAC Equipment, Controls, Service, and Energy Management.
Sean is active with the Mechanical Contractors Association of Metropolitan Washington, where he serves on the Conference Committee and as an Industry Fund Trustee.
Before joining Boland in 1994, John spent the majority of his career with a Fortune 500 corporation where he held several executive level engineering positions in their development and hospitality divisions. John’s experience in both new construction and existing buildings with a focus on energy and system operational efficiency has come to serve him well in his role at Boland.
During his career John has been an active member and served on various trade organizations including: Association of Energy Engineers, National Association of Power Engineers, Apartment and Office Building Association, National Capital Healthcare Engineering Society and the Hotel and Lodging Engineers Association. He has also served on a number of task forces with Trane and current serves on the board of advisors for Trane Building Advantage
Jerry Scanlan leads Boland’s Sales and Sales Support Teams, which includes client facing, vertical market oriented Sales persons, Project Development, Energy Engineering, Estimating and Customer Service. Jerry has over 31 years of experience in the building and construction industry, including HVAC applications and Energy Solutions. In his current role, Jerry is responsible for the resources that help clients discover opportunities and, offer them solutions to improve their organizational effectiveness through facilities improvements.
As a Professional Engineer who also holds and a Master’s in Business Administration, Jerry deploys the resources at Boland that help clients balance the technical and the financial challenges they face with respect to their facilities.
