Gaithersburg MD, May 25, 2017 – Boland (boland.com), a leading intelligent building technology and energy services provider, has been named a Best Place to Work for 2017 by the Washington Business Journal. This is the ninth time Boland has received the Washington Business Journal recognition.
“We are honored the Washington Business Journal has named us a Best Place to Work in the DC area,” said Jim Boland, president. “My father would be very proud to know that we are continuing to build on his vision of growing and investing in our team members, and constructing a community of experts. As a company that has been around for almost 60 years, we are especially grateful that our average employee has been with us for more than 11 years, growing and developing their careers along the way.”
The Best Places to Work Award, a recognition program of The Washington Business Journal, acknowledges DC-based companies that do an exceptional job with providing a friendly and stimulating work environment for their employees. Employees of nominated companies receive a link to a survey - the results of which are captured and evaluated based on employee opinions regarding their environment and leadership. Only the 25 top-rated companies are honored by the Washington Business Journal as a Best Places to Work.
“Our associates’ professional development is critical to our success, and the success of our clients,” Sarah Heitkemper, vice president of human resources said. “As of today, more than 70% of our associates have earned professional accreditations, offering our clients innovative solutions.”
“We are a family of more than 300 team members, each with their own skill-set, talent and knowledge” said Sean Boland, vice president of operations and owner sales. “The value each associate brings to our company and our clients is priceless. It’s our job [as leadership] to provide an environment that fosters collaboration and recognizes success. We are extremely proud of the fact that our associates – and the Washington Business Journal – say we are one of the best.”
